Why? Because kids are notoriously busybodies and as such need to get enough sleep not only for them to rest, but also to give their brains the opportunity to recoup and process all the information they take in and also to develop further. So how much is enough sleep? Newborns need about 14-17 hours of sleep per day, Infants 12 - 15 hours, Toddlers 11- 14 hours & Pre Schoolers need 10 - 13 hours of sleep per day. Now that's interesting!
